During the upgrade of the Sametime System Console from 8.5.2 to 8.5.2 IFR1, the upgrade may fail for various reasons.

If the upgrade fails, the server may be left in an unstable state, and the Websphere Integrated Solutions console (ISC) is unlikely to be available for administration.

The solution outlined in this document can be implemented prior to the initial upgrade to IFR 1 as a preventative measure or can be used to complete the upgrade after a failure has occurred.

Technote #1574839 : Upgrading Sametime System Console to 8.5.2 IFR 1 fails during installation

These steps can be implemented prior to the initial upgrade to IFR 1 as a preventative measure or can be used to complete the upgrade after a failure has occurred.

Step 1 - Backup and replace the 'iscmod_uninstall.py' file that is located in the /STSCServerCell directory with the copy that is attached to this document.

Step 2 - Open a command prompt and navigate to /AppServer/deploytool/scripts/install/ and execute the appropriate ejbdeploy-clear-cache for your OS, for Windows it would be 'ejbdeploy-clear-cache.bat'

Step 3 - Increase the Java heap size for the Installation Manager using tech note #1574992: Sametime server installation fails with "not enough storage is available to process this command" error
